Ather has announced a new financing option in Nepal that allows customers to purchase its electric scooters using only a valid ID card, without the need for additional financial documents.
Under this scheme, monthly installments start at Rs 6,058, aiming to simplify the purchase process for potential buyers.
According to the company, the ID-based financing model is intended to address common challenges faced by customers when purchasing electric vehicles and to make electric two-wheelers more accessible to a broader segment of the market.
Ather currently operates experience centers and service facilities across several major cities in Nepal, including Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Chitwan, Pokhara, Itahari, and Butwal. The brand has also developed a network of fast-charging points along key urban areas and highways to support its growing customer base.
Ather scooters are recognized for their strong performance and advanced features, including a touchscreen dashboard, fast-charging support, and over-the-air software updates. And, initiatives such as simplified financing and expanding infrastructure are likely to play a role in encouraging wider adoption of electric two-wheelers in Nepal.
Ather sells the 450 and Rizta models in the Nepalese market, with pricing starting at Rs 3,24,999 for the 450S with a 2.9 kWh battery, Rs 3,64,999 for the 450 (2.9 kWh), Rs 3,99,999 for the 450X equipped with a 3.7 kWh battery pack, and Rs 3,83,500 for the Ather Rizta Z.
